“I love seeing a church filled with excited, hungry and expectant people who are ready to worship and encounter our living God.”

When I first started working at our church over 20 years ago, things were very different. I’d been volunteering in worship for many years, but I was faced with a decision… would I accept an invitation into full-time ministry? I was pregnant with my third child at the time and I had to decide if I wanted to give up school teaching to become Worship Pastor. It wasn’t about a career change… it was about a calling.

And wow, that was over two decades ago, and things look so different for our church now.  Back then, we only had a senior pastor, youth pastor and me! I was leading a worship team of 20 people and we only sang along to a piano organ. But each year we grew gradually… little, by little, by little. And now, we have a worship team of 140+ people, including musicians, singers, technicians, dancers and actors. God is good and often so gently brings about change.

My favourite moments in ministry are when I’m standing back in a worship service, and watching the next generation of worshipers soar as they lead the congregation. I love it, and I think that’s because I’m passionate about seeing people be released in their giftings.

One of the biggest things for me over the years has been the support of my amazing family, especially my husband Dave, who’s been by my side all these years. He worships alongside me and encourages me so incredibly. I can’t forget to mention our beautiful kids… Nic and his wife Amanda, Jona and his wife Nikki, Annie and her husband Scott. My perfect day is pretty much doing anything – anywhere in the world – with my family!
